Launch Event 'Leave Your Car At Home Day' Sat 17th Sept

To celebrate the launch of the Barrhead Business Improvement District and European Mobility Week, we invite you to 'Leave Your Car at Home' and visit Barrhead town centre.

Leave Your Car At Home Day Sat 17th Sept 2016

Why not come into the town centre on foot, bike or bus from 10am to 5pm on Sat 17th Sept, and enjoy everything we have to offer. 


Land Train: The landtrain will loop around Main Street, Kelburn Street and Cross Arthurlie Street from 10am to 5pm.

There will only be 3 stops for land train. Passengers must get off at the next stop to allow new passengers to get on.

Land Train Stop 1. Bus stop in front of Barrhead Foundry, Main St

Land Train Stop 2. Bus stop to side of Tesco, Kelburn St

Land Train Stop 3. Bus stop opposite Cost Cutter, Cross Arthurlie St.

Rickshaws: Rickshaws will be placed at Main Street, Kelburn St and Cross Arthurlie St throughout the day.

Street Entertainment: Look out for street performers including stiltwalkers, a hula hoop lady and more.

Dr Bike: mechanics will carry out 20 point checks, maintenance and repairs when you bring your bike to their stand in front of Asda.

Guided Heritage Walks: Come along for a leisurely historical tour of the 'Blue Plaques' around the town centre including Main St, Kelburn St and Cochrane St. Walks will take approx 1 - 1.5 hours and be at an easy pace, leaving from the Barrhead Foundry at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. Places will be limited to 20-25 per group and on a first come first served basis.

Doors Open Day: Voluntary Action will have Arts and crafts, cafe, games and information about volunteering opportunities
